Guideline: Magic

Post by Avaron on Wed Mar 16, 2016 5:30 pm

Magic is the main form of combat for Mages throughout the world. It can be bought and/or learned by training, or having someone teach it. All spells drain mana to perform various techniques. To pay for magic training and purchases, jewels are used.

Registering Magic

To apply for a certain type of magic, you must post in the "Magic Registration" topic found on the index of the forum. The name of your topic should be: Last Name, First Name [Magic Registration]. To make it easy on yourself and easier for the staff to check, all spells that are being registered are to be posted in the same topic you made.

As soon as you have posted and made a request for a staff member to check your application, someone will give it a review and let you know if it is approved/denied or if it needs things to be edited. Custom made magic cannot be taken by anyone other than the creator, unless permission to do so has been given. Below is the template that will be used for magic spells, so copy and paste it to begin working on your registration.

Magic Template:

Take note that magic is not free, and you cannot get more without doing the work. Here is a guide to determining how much you need to pay, and what the word count requirements are.

  • Class D: 600 Jewels | 500 words
  • Class C: 800 Jewels | 750 words
  • Class B: 1000 Jewels | 1500 words
  • Class A: 2500 Jewels | 2000 words
  • Class S+: 3500 Jewels | 3000 words

When you are trained by another mage, there is no jewel cost. All you would have to do is do the required word count to train the spell. You'd still need to apply for the technique and wait for approval, but you would not have to pay for it. See below for additional tables for magic spells.

Strength:

  • Class D: User inflicts light bruises/cuts/burns and can knock the target back one meter.
  • Class C: User inflicts deep bruising/1 inch cuts/first-degree burns and can knock the target back up to 5 meters.
  • Class B: User inflicts internal bruising/1.5 - 2 inch cuts/second-degree burns and can knock the target back up to 7 meters.
  • Class A: User inflicts heavy bruising capable of bruising the bone/2.5 - 3 inch cuts/third-degree burns and can knock the target back up to 10 meters.
  • Class S+: User inflicts damage that is capable of breaking bones/piercing wounds/fourth-degree burns and can knock the target back up to 20 meters.

Speed:

  • Class D: 5-15 m/s
  • Class C: 15-25 m/s
  • Class B: 25-35 m/s
  • Class A: 35-50 m/s
  • Class S+: 50-70 m/s

Range:

  • Class D: 5-25 meters | 2-5 meter radius
  • Class C: 25-40 meters | 5-7 meter radius
  • Class B: 40-50 meters | 7-9 meter radius
  • Class A: 50-60 meters | 9-11 meter radius
  • Class S+: 60-70 meters | 11-15 meter radius
